Introducing Champagne Bollinger’s New Release Champagne

Oct 27, 2020

We’re excited to introduce the keenly anticipated new Bollinger Champagne PN VZ15 – the first new wine they have created since 2008. PN VZ15 is the first edition in a new collection of Champagnes made solely from the red Pinot Noir grape. Every year Bollinger will release a new addition to the collection, each showcasing a different cru (village) in a different way. As Bollinger are famed for their Pinot Noir, the aim of this new collection is to prolong the heritage and legendary style for which they are renowned.

PN VZ15 is made from fruit grown in Grand Cru vineyards (aka the very best!) mainly in the village of Verzenay with a little fruit from Aÿ, Bouzy and Louvois. This release is based on the 2015 vintage (50% of the blend) with reserve wines that go back to 2009.

It is delicately golden in colour and opens with rich, complex toasted and baked notes, dried fig, cherry stone and fresher scents of elderflower and pear. The signature rich Bollinger style shines through with wonderful smoky, nutty and caramel tones with peach and apricot jam flavours enhanced by mouth-watering vivacity. Bollinger recommend that it will be good with tomato tartlet, risotto of Champagne lentils, veal sweetbreads or Langres cheese… but it’ll be just as good enjoyed alone as a special occasion wine.

To fully appreciate its unique style and aromas serve between 8-10c. Enjoy now or leave for a few years to develop further depth, grilled hazelnut and rich caramel flavours.
