Agricola Marrone has been producing outstanding wines in Piemonte for four generations. The third and fourth generations run the estate today and take every care to ensure the quality of their wines… the grapes are even hand picked into small boxes and transported to the winery on sleds to avoid them being bounced about on the back of a trailer! The wines reflect perfectly their terroir but are, at the same time supremely drinkable lacking the aggressive tannins of so many wines from the region.
This wine is from Langhe, made using Nebbiolo, the grape famously used in Barolo so it’s perfect for those that love Barolo but not the price tag! It’s got an amazingly distinctive personality; close your eyes and it takes you straight to the heart of Piemonte. Intense and full with rose petals and a rich mouth and long finish. Tobacco, tangy marmalade. Ideal food pairing is pasta with meat and game sauce, salami and cheeses.
