Mountford Estate is a boutique vineyard and winery, internationally renowned for making elegant wines. The stunning 21 year old, 10 hectare vineyard is situated on the Eastern hillside of the Waipara Valley, which is highly regarded for the limestone rich soil. The team at Mountford Estate place a strong emphasis on attention to detail and use bio-dynamic practices in the vineyard and traditional Burgundian methods in the winery.

This Pinot Noir comes from the oldest vines at Mountford, planted in 1991. Foot plunging, extended maceration, wild yeasts and 18 months in French oak all assist to integrate black cherries, cassis, stone fruit blossom, dried Christmas fruits with juicy acidity and fine grain tannins.
