DUE WEEK COMMENCING 6TH MAY!
This unclarified and unfiltered super fresh Fino is loved by many for its unique, fresh from the cask experience. En Rama is alive with flavour and has more nutty and yeasty aromas than the usual Tio Pepe and on the palate it is fresh and citrusy, with a complex, saline finish. A truly gastronomic wine that pairs perfectly with olives, almonds, oily fish and tapas.
Tio Pepe En Rama has broken through yet another barrier with the selection far this vintage. They moved from the original Constancia and Rebollo wineries where the first soleras were laid in the 19th century and ventured into the 1960s to select butts from the soleras at the Gran Bodega Tio Pepe. The “Constancia and Rebollo” foundation soleras have given their best in 95 butts that are a tribute to our founder Manuel María González and his uncle José Ángel. The high summer and autumn temperatures were mitigated by our cellars’ ability to heat regulate heat naturally. The spring-like winter meant that the yeasts formed their protective white mantle in February, producing a pale-yellow wine with a sharp aroma with hints of citrus, spices, grass, leaven, almonds, chalk and talcum powder. A stunning, wild, unique and distinctive Tío Pepe that reflects the essence of our albariza soil and the grapes’ life cycle. An authentic wine with no filters that oozes raw emotion.
Straw yellow colour with an olive-green background and glints of gold. Slightly veiled because of the layer of or that speaks of it having been bottled “En Rama”. Intense on the nose, very expressive and sharp, displaying aromas of leaven, almonds, apple, grass, chalk and talcum powder. Pure albariza. Breathtaking on the palate, fresh, intense, smooth and creamy.
